Course Introduction

Change Management Foundation and Practitioner

What is Change Management?

This project management methodology is one of the most popular courses with Datrix Training and provides a globally recognised qualification which is valued significantly by employers. The Change Management certification teaches you how to deal with changes in the workplace before, when and after they occur. You will be able to know by the end of the course how to have a sense of authority when a change occurs and be able to manage the situation in a safe and sensible manner. You will not only gain knowledge on how to cope with change but also will have gained experience on how to handle different situations in the workplace, giving you valuable skills which will help you greatly in your career.

The Change Management Foundation & Practitioner Course, delivered by The Knowledge Academy, is accredited by APMG.

What does the course itself include?

The Change Management training course lasts for 5 days and is built of a two-part structure which consists of both foundation and practitioner skills. Throughout the first three days of the course, you will gain an understanding of what is involved in the foundation exam and this will prepare you for the in depth knowledge of the certification. Passing the foundation exam proves to employers that you have a significant amount of knowledge and has gone through in depth training within the Change Management certification.

The practitioner course is taken over the last two days. You will be training for the exam during the first day and in the second day will be taking your practitioner exam where you will gain a qualification in Change Management Practitioner. Throughout the two days, you will be using the knowledge which you have gained during the Foundation course and will be taught how to apply it to a given scenario which could potentially occur in a workplace. The exam will confirm whether or not you can do this.

The different topics in this course are the following:

  • Understanding the impact of change

What are the benefits of training in a classroom?

  • Delegates can carry out their training in a quiet and comfortable environment where they may feel is more suitable than working online where their surroundings could perhaps be not as comfortable. This could therefore enable them to pass with more confidence and more easily as they will be able to learn better and retain more knowledge which they have acquired more.
  • Candidates will be working in groups when training. Interaction with other people taking the same course causes different ideas to be shared and the level of communication found whilst training and taking the course is much larger than when delegates are working alone online. As a result of this, candidates may use the ideas which they have gained from others and apply them in their exam, meaning that the likelihood of them passing would be much greater.
  • The delegates can interact with their trainer face-to-face which can cause the trainers to be able to explain the different elements of the training and the course to the delegates with greater ease. This means that the delegates will gain more knowledge throughout their training since they will be able to remember what happened when they interacted with their trainer properly.
  • The silos between the delegate and the trainer are broken and eliminated when candidates interact face to face because they will be able to share experiences much easier and delegates will therefore gain knowledge much easier.

What are the benefits of training online?

  • Training can be offered in virtually any place at any time due to the flexible time frames which can be established through online training. This gives both trainers and delegates much more freedom in when they do the course, meaning that they will be more relaxed as they know that it is easy to complete the course within the specific time frame due to the high level of flexibility.
  • The feedback from the training and the grades from the exam can be received much quicker. With classroom training, the time which it takes to grade papers and gain feedback is long, causing the process to become tedious and inconvenient for the delegate.
  • There is a much wider, more up-to-date range of media which can be used during online training. With classroom training, there is less media which can be used, meaning that delegates will gain nowhere near as much knowledge in a classroom than they would online.
  • This up-to-date material also comes at a lower cost. Textbooks which are used in classrooms come at a much higher cost than the media and material found online. Textbooks cost a lot of money, however after a series of years, they become worthless when times change and new elements of the course are introduced.

What are the benefits of training onsite?

  • The cost for accommodation and travel to and from the training centre costs are eliminated. This means that there will be a lot of money saved so it will be less likely that there will be problems affording these two factors.
  • Running an onsite training course can give delegates more focused training which is more relevant to their business and the skills that they feel they significantly need to work on. It will be easier to highlight the specific strengths and weaknesses of the delegate due to this.
  • Training costs are lowered greatly. The costs per delegate are much lower because the training company simply needs to send a trainer to the site instead of having a high quality, expensive environment elsewhere.
  • Team building and teamwork can easily be encouraged. The fact that there will be a room full of delegates sharing mostly similar interests will encourage them to work together and bounce different ideas off each other, causing exemplary work to be produced throughout the training and in the exam, making the delegates much more likely to achieve a high grade in their Change Management Foundation and Practitioner course.
