Course Introduction

The Better Business Cases™ Foundation & Practitioner course introduces delegates to the philosophy and underlying rationale of the Five Case Model, business case types and their purpose, the requirement of the business case in the development of a spending proposal and development of the business case in relation to other best practice for project and programme management. The delegates will be able to recognise unnecessary spending immediately and improve decision making processes. Throughout the course, the delegates will learn to establish a clear need for intervention, set clear objectives, ensure an optimal balance of cost, benefits and risk by considering a wide range of potential solutions and successfully deliver the proposal. By the completion of the course, the delegates will be able to reduce unnecessary spend and consultancy costs, improve quality of decision making and optimise public value.

The Better Business Cases™ Foundation & Practitioner course has no pre-requirements. However, the experience of producing business cases for large capital expenditure projects would be beneficial.
